De Delft

In Delfshaven near Rotterdam an 18th century ship of the line is given a new life. “Stichting Historisch Schip” (Foundation for Historical Ships) “De Delft” is realising this project on her yard on the river Meuse, near oud-Delfshaven.

On a shipyard in Veilingstraat enthusiastic shipbuilders and woodcarvers have worked on the true-to-history reconstruction of an extraordinary sailing ship, using an authentic drawing from the 18th century.
